I am still Quacking

I have had issues.  Apparently since November, when I tried to kick start this back.  Mah issues did not have tissues, however.

I’ve had a weird ride the last 5-ish months.  I am the SO to a vet with PTSD, and he and I were making weekly trips to the VA (a 2 and a half hour drive) weekly for 2 and a half months of that.  On top of his regular appointments (which means some weeks we went 2 or more times).  It ruined our routine, and much like a kid, the routines help the whole family out for a variety of reasons.

I also have the baby duckling.  Who, for those of you into astrology, is a Scorpio.  For the same ones of you, I am an Aries.  For those of you that aren’t into it: we have a major personality clash.  She wants to be held, entertained and the center of attention CONSTANTLY.  I’m like, dude.  There’s toys!  I buy them!  Go play with them!  ALONE!

Then I generally have to chase her out of the bathroom.  Or my fabric.   Or my purse.   Until I give in and hold her.

Sooo..I’m trying to get back into sewing.  I have killer fabric, killer patterns for me, for her, for Neal…and all sorts of cool stuff I have been dying to share.

I am hoping that the next week will get us back to normal.  We are back to the monthly or so VA appointments, so there is a definite decrease of stress.  I’m not promising anything, but hey!  I’m alive.

  1. I’ve lived through a mild case of PTSD, and all I can say is my heart goes out to both of you!!!!! A good counselor makes a world of difference, so even though it must have been a real pain in the backside, your trips to VA were a good investment of your time in my opinion. I hope that life will continue to get easier for all of you, and you’ll be able to indulge yourself in a some quality time at the sewing machine.

  2. I just found you through lladybird blog. I can hear you so much about everything you said in this post. My daughter is Scorpio and I’m Sagittarius ! also a big clash…oh, man I’m sort of a free soul. PTSD is something I have to live with too, heavy weight, but I have been on counselling for a year now and I’m making improvement.I hope you are being gentle with yourself. Take lots of care

Quack!
